About the club

Home/About Us

The Harrogate MG & Classic Car Club is an independent club with close ties to both the national MG Owners Club and the MG Car Club.
Harrogate MG Club was formed in 1985 with the aid of a photograph and a small paragraph in the Harrogate Advertiser.

In 2022 it was renamed Harrogate MG & Classic Car Club
It started with only a handful of people who had one thing in common – their love for their MG – although today’s Club invites everyone to join, MG owner, other classic owner or just car enthusiast.

Meetings are held at The Oatlands, 1 Coronation Grove, Harrogate, HG2 8BY on the second Thursday of each month except possibly July and August. (see diary dates) Meetings commence 8.00pm.
Approaching from Harrogate town centre, drive up Leeds Road and turn left at the traffic lights on to Hookstone Road.
The club is approx. 200yds on the right side and the car park entrance is on Coronation Grove.

Approaching from Leeds, turn right at the traffic lights on to Hookstone road, then as above. This gives the Club a modern well appointed social centre from which to grow. Hope to see all old and many new members there over the coming years. The Club organises various outings and social functions – including, in the past – French trips, weekends and weeks away, brewery trips, pub runs, barbecues, boat trips and our Annual Dinner. We also attend MG shows and events all over the country – entering concours, taking part in road runs and displaying our cars. Each year we organise our own national MG Rally – Harrogate MG 2024 – which will be at Pateley Bridge on 4th August 2024. As well as concours and condition competitions we have bands, MG traders and parts suppliers, autojumble, fun for the whole family and the event is definitely not to be missed!
