September 2021

August 7th - Embsay Railway

Some members joined the Magnette register for a day out at Embsay and a ride on the train to Bolton Abbey.

The weather was worse than the Sunday as it rained all day but we still enjoyed ourselves.

Members met at the Gallops in Middleham for a chat and a picnic.

All week the forecast had been threatening but it turned out to be a very pleasant day.

August 30th - Harrogate Car Enthusiasts Show

Bank Holiday Monday and typical Bank Holiday weather. It drizzled all morning but there were eight members cars on display

and several others turned out for support.  It was a show for petrol-heads of differing persuasions,

many modern high performance cars alongside classics and car clubs of different marques.

They raised £1250 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Well done.

Some of us dried out and were fortified by coffee courtesy of John and Lynne in the afternoon, many thanks.

September 26th - Picnic at Filey

Please note the change of date.

Time for a visit to the seaside before the Summer really disappears.

We meet at Filey Brigg Country Park YO14 9ET from about 11.00am onwards.

There are toilets and a café on site but parking charges apply.

If the weather forecast is totally unsuitable we will e-mail members.

We are hoping to have our last outing this year in October and are investigating  a picnic at Bolton Abbey Station.

More details later.

Harrogate MG 2021

The weather was not very kind to us this year., but between the showers we managed to have a show.

Steads MG of Sheffield were hit by Coronavirus on the Friday and had to cancel but look forward to a future meeting.

There were only three concours cars missing and a few cars of interest but MG Clubs turned up in some numbers to make everything worthwhile.

There are photos and the results on the Nostalgia page (Shows)

E10 Petrol  - From MGOC

“E10 is a subject where clearly a significant number of members have missed the eight pages we have devoted to the subject.”

Access the member’s website with your membership details and look at the article in June 2020.

There was also a reminder feature in May 2021.

Club Nights

Since the lifting of Covid restrictions the club room has not been restored to it’s original layout.

It is still laid out with social distancing in mind, using the dance floor as extra space.

Hand sanitisers are available. Given our usual attendance numbers we should be adequately spaced out.

We hope to see you soon at a meeting.

We are not starting yet to dine out on Thursdays or Sundays.

MacMillan Coffee Morning

Jan and Paul Mitchell are holding their usual coffee morning in aid of the above charity.

Thursday 18th September from 1pm onwards. Everybody welcome.
