Picnic Run - Middleham
The week had been a wet one but a valiant number of club members turned up for the Middleham run.
All good for the run itself nice and dry and excellent views en route. Picnic tables set out at the Gallops but rain stopped play.
However all was not lost and we hastily packed up and went to Brymors where we spent a happy hour under cover.
in Wharfedale Classic Car Show
despite weather warnings, the day turned out reasonable with only a passing
show, part of Burley’s Summer Festival, goes from strength to strength, fully
booked months in
advance. The food and craft markets add to the attraction and make for a relaxing day shortly after our own show.
Run - 29th September
Going to Elvington Air Museum, starting in Castley for coffee from 9.30am to depart at 10.30am latest.
route will pass some WW11 air fields and take approx. two hours. Museum will be
£7 per person.
have not booked a meal at Elvington, the NAAFI will be open for meals,
sandwiches and hot drinks or take a picnic with you.
down run in October will be organised by Brian and Barabra Perry, possibly to
the Watermill in Thirsk for lunch.
The menu for the Christmas dinner at Ascot House is now available. The cost is £30 per person including gratuities.
