OCTOBER 2014

Charity Run & Coffee Morning

Jan Mitchell would like to thank all who have supported her in her recent fundraising efforts.
After walking the half marathon, just over 13 miles, a total of £213.50  + gift aid, was raised for Dementia Forward on 6 September.
Following the Macmillan Coffee morning on 26 September we raised £315 + gift aid.
So thanks to all who supported us.

Club Night - Jersey

Dave Abbott entertained us with a picture show of the Club’s trip to Jersey in 1998.

It was good to see Sue & John Corfield who were on that trip (even if he upstaged Dave’s jokes).

Thanks to Victor for helping Dave with the IT.

We had visitors from Exeter MG with us (they were on holiday in the area) who recognised some of their members from the photos.

Knotford Nook

11 cars attended this popular show.

Pub Night & Run

Stuart organised an afternoon run, starting at Fountains Abbey and having tea and cakes in Whitby.

Members then met with others for the pub night at the Shoulder of Mutton.

He hopes to repeat a mid-week run in the future.

Club Run - Dales

Eleven cars met at Wildings to follow the route that many of our visitors to the Show had done on the Saturday.

They were left to their own choice of lunch venue and finished back at Pateley Bridge.

Located midway between Cockermouth and Whitehaven and just a couple of miles from Workington, this attractive and imposing building

dating from the 18th century, is set in its own grounds in the stunning Western Lake District.

Since 1999 under the present owners Joe and Denise Wilson, this independent hotel has been tastefully and lovingly renovated and extended

making it a much appreciated venue for all occasions.

The hotel is set in super gardens, has 24 elegant rooms, furnished in a traditional style, each comes with a TV and a CD player,

along with facilities for making tea and coffee and there is plenty of parking.

Meeting at the Coniston Hotel at Coniston Cold, just outside Skipton, where you will collect your route book and information pack before setting off.

There are five or six golf courses in the area for the more energetic amongst you.

Sunday will see an interesting drive home or you can take the more direct route – again the choice is yours.

If you wish to join us on for the weekend please email for more details.
