Club Night - February
Bob Farish entertained us with tales and information about his job as a driver for the organ transplant service,
there were no gory details but amusing anecdotes and information about this vital service.
We were not surprised by the number of idiots on the road that fail to recognise sirens and blue flashing lights but
were at the costs of flying, as opposed to driving, to deliver organs.
He showed us a short film about the do/donít with regard to acknowledging
emergency vehicles when driving and actions we could take to make things easier for them.
We have made a donation to the air ambulance service at his request.
Ken Pitchford organised a Sunday lunch at the Guy Fawkes Arms at Scotton. It is under new ownership and they certainly looked after us well.
A wide choice of menu was offered, the service was prompt and efficient, we look forward to a return at a later date.
Club run on the 16th will start with coffee at The George at Wormald Green. The run will finish at The Coore Arms for lunch.
The pub night is at Luigiís, Valley Drive, Harrogate We will be having the early bird menu so we need to be there before 7pm.
Start up Run - Shadow the Railway Meet at Hellifield station cafť at 9.30am for
coffee, bacon sandwiches will be for sale but not firemanís breakfast.
