June 2019

The beginning of the month saw some members at John Smith’s in Tadcaster for a show in aid of  the air ambulance.

It was well organised by Leeds and nice to see a fine array of marques and models.

The second Sunday in the month a few members went to Little Ouseburn for the open gardens.

Others went to Otley for Classics on the Cobbles, a small show, only 25 cars, but support for a local (to some of us) club.

Chequers was our venue for pub of the month. It has been refurbished and the

layout inside was better for the carvery. It is always well attended and always good food and good value.

Harrogate car enthusiasts

The Bank holiday weekend was busy. On the Saturday 8 cars were present at the Harrogate Railway F.C. ground

for a show with a difference. Many of the exhibitors were performance or modified cars,

but all enthusiasts of some type. They raised £1100 for Yorkshire air ambulance.

Himalayan gardens

Sunday saw 21 members gather at the White Swan for coffee. We had a pleasant run up to

Grewelthorpe and by that time the sun had decided to come out.

Members spent a pleasant three or four hours wandering around the gardens.

The terrain was challenging for some but the staff were helpful in transporting people to the bottom of the valley.

Thanks to Alan for a good day out.

As you will know from previous editions of The Distributer , when Richard goes on holiday he keeps a look out for MG's.

Camera was not ready when an MGA passed by the lakeside in Lucerne.

However we pictured this 1947 MG TC in the Transport Museum in Lucerne and

this MGA was pictured crossing the river in Zurich.

Scar House reservoir.

John and Lynne have planned a run to Scar House reservoir on 14th July. Meet for coffee 10.00am at the Tea Cups café, Pateley Bridge.

Go past the showground then turn into the Auction Mart where there is good parking.

The route will take you up to Scar House reservoir, take a picnic.  There are toilets at the car park.

You can enjoy a walk if you feel capable.

Ripon Classic Car Gathering. 28th July.

David Griffiths has 10 passes for our club stand, let him know if you want one.

The show plans are well advanced, volunteers are needed for Sunday, please contact George.

Please can you pass tombola prizes to Dave or Sue Abbott. We will also have a book stall.

The trade stands are hopefully enhanced by some craft stalls this year and we have had interest

from other marques who may come to the show.

The club has decided to support the Wentworth Woodhouse car show in September.

This is the same date as Knotford Nook, Otley.

If members are not willing or able to travel to Wentworth let George know if you want a stand booked for Knotford.
