Club Run - Scar House Reservoir

18cars enjoyed a thirty mile run through the North Yorkshire countryside to Scar House Reservoir.

We started at Tea cups café in Pateley Bridge where we were made extremely welcome by Sam who

makes a very good bacon butty and supplied us with coffee and lots of chocolate biscuits which I believe were the cheapest ever!!

After refreshments Sam and John saw everyone safely on their journey. Sheep, chickens, horses and bikes were on the roads too

but hey it is the countryside. The weather was fair at Scar and luckily it did not rain.

We all had our own picnics and homemade cake and a jolly good natter. We made our own way home.

Some called at the Artisan market in Pateley Bridge whilst others made a full day of it and stayed in the area.

Certainly we all enjoyed ourselves.   Lynne Lumley

Pub Night

Members enjoyed a very warm evening at the Royal Oak, Dacre Banks. They took pre-dinner drinks outside,

before dining in the restaurant. Due to the rather high temperatures especially after dining, coffee was served outside.

Chairman Roger was disappointed no-one took up the 'Boules challenge'-maybe next time!

Ripon Classic Car Gathering

10 cars attended this show, hoping for better weather than last year. It did not disappoint, it was fine all day with even some sunshine.

Members enjoyed a relaxed day wandering amongst the autojumble and viewing some fine cars.

Forthcoming events

Classic Car Show - Wentworth Woodhouse - 8th September

Alan has booked a stand for 10 cars. The entry fee is £5 per car inc. occupants to be paid in advance. Details will be forwarded nearer the time.

There is a car show at York on the 22nd September, check York Historic Vehicle Group for details. Some entry forms available at club night.

Memorial Run - 29th September

Going to Elvington Air Museum, starting in Castley for coffee. Do members want a picnic lunch or we

could arrange a block booking for lunch in the NAAFI.  The route will pass some WW11 air fields.

Because of the UCI, international bike race, around Harrogate we have decided to cancel the September pub night.

We would welcome suggestions for pub nights. Perhaps you have tried somewhere new and would like to share it or

you have an old favourite we could revisit.

Have you been to a show or on a run this year that we could put on the calendar for 2020.
