April 2018

Club Run - Wentworth Woodhouse

Thirty four members enjoyed a guided tour around this house in South Yorkshire. The guides were very knowledgeable and

entertaining, having lived their lives on the estate.

There is a lot of work to be done but it was good to see an unadorned house and appreciate it’s architecture.

We had a good lunch afterwards and could possibly look forward to another visit when more work has been done.

Thanks to Harry Burrell for chauffeuring in his four wheel drive car and to Brian Whiteley for the sand and shovel to tackle the slope out.

Thanks also to Alan for organising the day.

He also answered general questions on horticulture from members.

Pub Night - Luigis

What can one say! It was, as always, a good night. Luigi is always pleased to welcome us and looks after us extremely proficiently.

The show is fast approaching. The committee have most things in hand including some new entertainment for Sunday.

The rota is available from tonight, please sign up or let George know your preferred days, tasks and times.

0113 2551785 or susanp543f@gmail.com. If members could spare more than two hours on the Sunday it would be very appreciated.

Requests for Tombola prizes from Sue and Dave Abbott and we will have the usual book stall.

The after show meal will be at The Crown in Pateley Bridge. It has new owners, from Wildings café,

If members wish to just join us for the Sunday they are more than welcome, dinner could also be arranged before travelling home.
